SUSPICION 

Mauro Dirago is a music industry veteran; well-known and popular. Having started his career as one of Stock, Aitken and Waterman’s PWL stable, he continued with production work as one of the team behind Elvis Presley’s multi-million selling ‘If I Can Dream’ album, song writing with Rob Davis (‘Can’t Get You Out of my Head’) and more recently initialising the concept, and producing, the highly successful ‘Re-Discovered’ album series.  

An Elvis fan since a child, Mauro has always looked to ways in which he can keep ‘The King’s’ name relevant and alive in the music industry. In his lifetime of championing the work of his musical hero Mauro has forged an enduring friendship with Priscilla Presley, helped push Elvis back to the top of the album charts with the ‘If I Can Dream’ album (over a million sales in the UK alone) and even enjoyed impromptu jam sessions with those who worked with Elvis on-stage.

There is no-one more passionate or qualified to have recorded this amazing new homage to Elvis on the landmark anniversary of his 90^th Birthday.

‘Suspicion’ is a beloved favourite of Elvis’ huge fan base. Recorded at Nashville’s famous Studio B (The Home of a 1,000 Hits) at the start of Elvis’ re-emergence into the music industry after his military service, it was initially released in 1962 on the ‘Pot Luck’ album and then subsequently pressed as the B side to the track ‘Kiss Me Quick’ in 1964.

Such is the enduring legacy of the track that it has been covered by artists from all across the globe, and has entered a number of different music charts. Now 60 years after Elvis’ single release of the track, the legacy of ‘Suspicion’ continues with an exciting, fresh and highly contemporary take on this Elvis classic with top producer Yoad Nevo (Pet Shop Boys, Sia, Girls Aloud) and saxophone by Lisa Graham of the Jools Holland Band.

As well as the historic occasion of Elvis’ 90^th Birthday, the time is right to carry on the continued interest and success of Elvis which, although has remained strong since his break out in the music industry in 1954, has been boosted with both existing fans and a whole new generation through the highly acclaimed Baz Luhrmann film ‘Elvis’ in 2022, the highly lauded Netflix documentary of 2024 ‘Return of the King’ and the huge success of the ‘Direct From Graceland’ exhibit at London Arches. 2025 sees Elvis break new ground with the highly anticipated ‘Elvis Evolution’ immersive show opening at the Excel Waterfront.
