MEMPHIS AND TUPELO - TOUR A
Sunday 11th to Tuesday 20th August 2024
MEMPHIS,TUPELO, TORONTO AND NIAGARA - TOUR B
Sunday 11th to Friday 23rd August 2024
Long regarded as the ultimate in Elvis tours, our group visits to Memphis and Tupelo are designed to give Elvis fans the best possible Elvis Experience. Offering meticulously planned tours for over 50 years our team of Elvis fan travel professionals will take you on a journey of Elvis delight.
You’ll tour his beloved Graceland home, be taken on a full day’s sightseeing tour of Memphis to see or visit the places that
helped shape his life. Time enough too to explore at will, to take a sightseeing cruise on the mighty Mississippi River and to enjoy the many concerts and events that are especially arranged by Elvis Presley Enterprises for Elvis Week.
Onward then to Tupelo, Mississippi to visit Elvis’ Birthplace, the humble home where our idol was born and where you can peruse the Elvis Museum and even experience thechurch, the schools that he attended, where he first heard gospel and blues being sung; and even where he had his first kiss!
For those taking the Option of Tour B we head north – all the way to Canada – the only country outside the USA that Elvis performed and where, on 2nd April 1957, Elvis appeared at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto – the last place that Elvis wore the complete gold lame suit on stage. It is rare for us to include Canada on our tours so it is unlikely that we’ll
be back for quite a while so here’s a unique opportunity to visit, and also to see the awesome Niagara Falls.
Day 1 – Sunday 11th August - Tour A & B
Morning departure from London’s Heathrow Airport. As there are no direct flights from the UK to Memphis we’ll clear US Immigration/Customs and connect with our onward flight at a ‘gateway’ airport, arriving into Memphis in the early evening. Coach transfer to our hotel – the magnificent Guest House at Graceland. Evening at leisure.
Day 2 – Monday 12th August - Tour A & B
Graceland Day! Start the day with a visit to Elvis’ beautiful mansion home. You’ll have a self-guided tour of the house and garden before stepping aboard Elvis’ aircraft, touring the ‘Presley Motors’ Auto Museum and visiting the other exhibits...and shops, of course! Evening free – perhaps a visit to Marlowes a well-known Elvis themed restaurant nearby? Great food!
Day 3 - Tuesday 13th August - Tour A & B
Today we have a full day’s tour of Elvis’ Memphis taking in many major sights but
also the places that were so important to Elvis. We’ll visit Sun Studio where he cut his first record and the Overton Park Shell where he performed his first major concert, you’ll see where he went to school, worked, lived (including a visit to the Presley’s Lauderdale Courts apartment) and so much more besides.
Day 4. to Day 6. Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th August Tour - A & B
Three glorious days free in Memphis. Revisit Graceland, take in some of the Elvis Week Interviews, Movie Presentations and Concerts, experience the very moving candlelight vigil for Elvis on the evening of the 15th, enjoy some ‘retail therapy’ or take time out by the hotel’s pool.
The Elvis Travel Service free Shuttle Service will operate between the hotel and downtown throughout these three days and in the evenings you might wish to join the Tour Managers on a visit to exciting Beale Street.
Day 7 – Saturday 17th August - Tour A & B
Morning leisurely drive to Tupelo, Mississippi where we’ll start our tour of the Elvis sights of this friendly Deep South city with a visit to Tupelo Hardware – where Gladys bought her boy a guitar as his present for his 11th Birthday
Lots more sights to see before we check-in to
our lovely hotel – the Hotel Tupelo. Evening
at leisure.
Day 8 – Sunday 18th August - Tour A & B
Mid-morning start as we continue our exploration of all-things-Elvis before making our way to the Elvis Presley Birthplace - where it all began. You’ll be able to visit the humble home where he was born, now part of a complex including a theatre, a Memorial Chapel, Fountain and Story Wall, the original First Assembly of God Church and Elvis statues as a child and as a performer – all set amid beautiful landscaped grounds.
Day 9 - Monday 19th August - Tour A & B
Late morning drive to Memphis Airport where those on Tour A will board the flight for the overnight journey back to the UK arriving in the morning of 20th August. Those opting for Tour B will instead fly to Canada and on arrival into Toronto Airport will be transferred to the elegant Novotel Hotel in the city centre.
Day 10 - Tuesday 20th August - Tour B
Morning sightseeing tour of Toronto, Canada’s largest city. In addition to the major tourist sights of Toronto, including the spiring CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, historic Fort York and bustling Kensington or St Lawrence Markets we’ll show you where Elvis stayed and performed in Toronto. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 11. Wednesday 21st August - Tour B
Another treat today as we drive south to the famous Niagara Falls – certainly one of the most awesome natural wonders on Earth. The noise alone will astound you as millions of gallons of water plunge into the gorge below. Time to take a ride underneath on the ‘Maid of the Mist’ or just enjoy the spectacle from above....you’ll be amazed. We’ll also stop at the quaint town of Niagara on the Lake with its ‘olde world’ shops and restaurants.
Day 12. Thursday 22nd August - Tour B
Morning free for sightseeing (and packing!) before leaving for the airport to join our evening flight overnight to the UK.
Day 13. Friday 23rd August - Tour B
Morning arrival into London Heathrow.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS
A full Electronic Passport (e-Passport) issued by the UK Government or a member state of the European Union and valid for at least 6 months after the date of return to the UK is required. Visas are not required for the majority of British
Citizens visiting the USA and Canada as there is a Visa Waiver ESTA (USA) or a Electronic Travel Authorisation eTA (Canada) system in place instead. To obtain an ESTA for the USA you should complete the Visa Waiver Form online at
https://esta.cpb.dhs.gov/ at least 2 weeks before departure The cost is currently $21 (payable by Debit/Credit Card) and the ESTA is valid for 2 years or until the expiry of your Passport.
Those taking the Tour B Option will need to obtain the Canadian eTA you should go online to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp and complete the Electronic Travel Authorisation form. The cost of an eTA is just C$7:00 and this too can be paid by Debit or Credit cards. The eTA is then valid for 5 years or until the expiry of your Passport.

CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
The weather in August can be variable but in
Memphis and Tupelo you can expect it to be
hot – probably between a minimum daytime temperature in the 80’sF and a maximum of just over 100’F so best take light-weight clothing with a comfortable pair of walking shoes or trainers for sightseeing. Toronto will be a little cooler with an expected minimum of 70’F and a maximum of around 80’F. The USA and Canada is known for its informality and so nowhere (not even at these nice hotels!) are you expected to ‘dress-up’ – however there will be a few opportunities in the evenings for those who would wish to.
PAYMENT AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
A payment of £1000 per person deposit is payable upon booking. Upon receipt of your deposit (and obviously subject to places being available) you will be sent a Confirmation-Invoice showing the balance due.
